Sex Offender Attacked by Another Prisoner in Crazy Court Video

Christopher Elwell was sentenced to 7 ½ to 15 years in prison on Thursday for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl back in June. Apparently, another prisoner who was in court at the time took issue with what Elwell did, and attacked him in the New Hampshire courtroom.

Josiah Davies was already seated in the back of the room when Elwell was seated next to him, waiting for his turn to be called for an arraignment and probation violation hearing. As soon as Elwell sat down, Davies, who was in restraints, dove at Elwell, headbutting him repeatedly until an officer tackled him.

A spokesperson for the Strafford County Attorney’s Office told local WMUR that it must have been something about Elwell’s case that set off Davies, because the two men didn’t know each other beforehand.

Elwell admitted to the allegation that he assaulted the young girl when she visited a home where he had been staying. Prosecutors said that two other girls, ages 4 and 9, were also there at the time.

In addition to the assault, prosecutor Emily Conant told the judge that Elwell failed to register as a sex offender as was required after a 2008 conviction.

The incident is now under investigation, and Davies could face up to seven years in prison.
