Nanny Tackles Alleged Package Thief (WATCH)

Surveillance footage shows a nanny going after–and tackling–an alleged package thief.

Kate Anderson nannies the 1-year-old Smith baby in Snohomish County, Washington. Footage captured by the Smith’s surveillance camera from early last week caught all of Anderson’s theatrical heroics–and the lead up to them, too.

In the video, a car pulls up to where an Amazon package was recently delivered. In that car sits a woman–and the alleged package thief in question. Anderson told local KIRO:

I saw her bending and picking it up, and they get a lot of packages. And I knew. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s taking that,’ so I just took off after her, to be honest.

The footage actually gets fairly intense well before Anderson enters the picture.

As the would-be thief attempts to reenter the car, her getaway vehicle peels away and the woman falls out onto the sidewalk near the Smith house’s driveway.

As the woman struggles to get up and run away, Anderson is already out the door, shouting. She screams, “Hey what the fuck are you doing? Hey you fucking piece of shit! What are you trying to steal?”

Then, Anderson tackles her mark, pulling the clumsy alleged thief to the ground. Anderson remains on top of the suspected thief and continues to restrain her while yelling for a passerby to call the cops.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to arrest the woman, identified as 29-year-old Rhieanna Schindler.

Tanya Smith, the homeowner and Anderson’s friend, went on the record about the incident, saying, “She’s just like a straight baller, she’s amazing and doesn’t take crap from anybody.”

As for the package itself? It apparently contained items for the baby.
