Watch Live: Defendant Tammy Moorer Takes the Stand in Kidnapping Trial

On the ninth day of the kidnapping trial of South Carolina woman Tammy Moorer, the defendant Moorer has decided to testify in her own defense. Watch live in the player above.

Moorer–along with her husband Sidney Moorer–is accused of being involved in the disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis on December 18, 2013. Prosecutors say that Elvis and Sidney Moorer had an affair that ended months prior to Elvis’ disappearance, amid rumors that Elvis was pregnant.

The prosecution rested their case on Wednesday. Witnesses discussed cell phone location records that supported the theory that Elvis was lured to a boat landing prior to being abducted. Elvis’ roommate also testified, saying that Elvis was in love with Sidney Moorer, but was afraid of Tammy Moorer.

Dennis Hart, Elvis’ boss at The Tilted Kilt, also took the stand earlier in the trial, stating that Tammy Moorer once called the establishment asking for Elvis to be fired, accusing Elvis of spreading a rumor that she was pregnant with Sidney Moorer’s child. Hart recalled Elvis once showing up to work with a black eye, and that she did not have a consistent excuse for how it happened.

Sidney and Tammy Moorer were originally charged with murder, but those charges were later dropped. Sidney Moorer has already faced a trial for kidnapping, but that ended in a mistrial when the jury couldn’t reach a decision. He still awaits a second trial, but he was convicted last year of obstructing the investigation.
