Jurors in the murder trial of Nicholas Godejohn saw his confession video on Tuesday. In it, he made a startling claim about what happened after the killing of Dee Dee Blanchard–that he had sex with the victim’s daughter, Gypsy Blanchard after they cleaned up the scene.

It happened in Gypsy’s bedroom.
“We pretty much did all three things,” he said. “We did anal. All of them.”
“Okay, so you had anal sex with her, and then–what’s the other?” said Detective Angela Maholy. “I can’t guess.”
Then he clarified that they also had vaginal sex and reciprocal oral sex. He described it as consensual and said Gypsy was already naked from cleaning.
He also said that he took her virginity in a local movie theater — after she brought him into the men’s restroom.
Malholy previously questioned him on whether he put his penis or mouth on Dee Dee. He denied it.
In opening statements on Tuesday, the prosecutor leaned in hard on the grisly, lurid details of the murder. Autopsy results showed that Blanchard was stabbed 17 times. Godejohn got Gypsy to clean up naked because it turned him on, and that they had sex in her bedroom while her mother lay dead, the state said.
The defense lawyer was comparatively far more muted about the details.
“Nick went through with Gypsy’s plan,” he said.
The defense, however, said they will show that Godejohn lacked the mental capacity to commit first-degree murder. Expert testimony is expected to point out that the defendant had autism, and a low IQ.
