Man Gets Hit By His Own Car During Police Chase (WATCH)

Ever get hit by your own car? We haven’t had the pleasure, but according to cops in Virginia, such a thing happened to a drunk driving suspect. The Fairfax County Police Department released dash cam video on Tuesday. The man in the footage sped off after officers tried to pull him over, authorities said in a statement on Facebook. He then exited the car to escape. Thing is, he forgot to stop the vehicle, police said.

As seen in the footage, the individual runs out out of the driver’s side door and steps in front of his still moving vehicle. The inevitable happens, as the car taps him from the behind, causing him to stumble over out of view.

He’s fine, police said. Physically speaking. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Isaac Bonsu, faces a slew of charges.

Law&Crime reached out to the Fairfax County General District Court for more information. Here’s what a staffer told us about his case. Bonsu faces charges of DUI-3rd offense, possession of marijuana, operating with a suspended license, eluding police, hit and run, drinking while driving/having an open container in his vehicle, and driving with an illegal window tint. The arrest warrant does not specify who the alleged hit and run victim was, the staffer said.

Bonsu is scheduled for a court date on April 30. As of yet, no attorney is on file as representing him.
