A woman from the remote New York City borough of Staten Island flipped her car in an unsuccessful bid to evade police.
This past Thursday, at or around 2:20 a.m., Danielle Fragetti was allegedly hailed by cops in the Great Kills neighborhood of Staten Island.
Police claim that instead of pulling over, Fragetti put the pedal to the metal and quickly lost control of her vehicle.
Fragetti’s increased speed and concomitant loss of control resulted in her almost side-swiping an already in pursuit patrol car with the New York City Police Department (“NYPD”) before slamming into a center median.
The meeting of Fragetti’s white Nissan Altima and the center median is where the video begins.
Obtained by the Staten Island Advance, the video shows Fragetti’s car speeding toward the median, making contact and then launching into a low-to-the-ground leap before nose-diving onto a nearby lawn.
The car rolls a bit–performing four separate movements–and then ultimately settles on staying right-side up.
Multiple officers with the NYPD then rush to the car as the video repeats.
Fragetti was arrested on charges including drunk driving, reckless driving and drug possession.
