A 15-year-old high school student is accused of spying on girls in several school restrooms, allegedly crawling above ceiling panels and cutting small peepholes through which he can view the girls as a Peeping Tom.
WSBTV Channel 2 in Atlanta reports the student was caught on Thursday after another student got suspicious after catching him coming down from his secret peeping spots. However, authorities say at this point they are still unsure how long this has been going on.
“It’s disturbing. We definitely feel for the girls that had to deal with this,” Paulding County Sgt. Ashley Henson said in an interview with the television station.
On Friday, a journalist with the network shared a video of the bathroom that purportedly shows several of the peepholes in the ceiling of one bathroom.
A reporter talked to several students and parents from the school on Friday and they expressed confusion and fear about what took place.
“I wouldn’t want to have a daughter up here and somebody’s peeping down on her or whatever. That’s crazy,” Marcus Grissom said, a parent of a student at the school.
The student who police say was involved has reportedly been taken to a juvenile detention facility on at least two Peeping Tom charges.
School officials refused to discuss much about the incident, including what potential disciplinary actions they may take against the student. Though, they did say a letter was sent home to all parents on Thursday informing them of the incident.
