Employee Immediately Shoots Back When Gunman Busts into Store (WATCH)

Is there a record for world’s quickest attempted robbery? Here’s a contender. As caught on surveillance footage, a gunman entered a store in Durham, North Carolina on September 28. He didn’t even spend 10 seconds inside before fleeing.

The Durham Police Department says that the gunman entered a Smoke 4 Less around 8 p.m while wearing a mask. Video shows him and the store employee immediately getting into a shootout, and the suspect quickly fled. Cops say the employee suffered a gunshot wound to the arm (footage depicts him standing after the gunman ran away).

The suspect was described as a black man, “with a skinny build,” wearing a black mask, dark clothes, and a brown pair of Timberland boots, police say. Investigators also suspect him of robbing of Hardees about 30 minutes before the shootout.
