WATCH: Atlanta Cops Amazing Rescue of 2 Trapped in Burning Car

 


Four Atlanta police officers are being called heroes after body-cam footage was released showing them smashing car windows to help rescue two people that were inside a burning car. According to local reports, the car crashed into a pillar on I-85 in the Atlanta metro area. The vehicle was fully engulfed when officers arrived.

“I started banging on the window, as I was banging on the window Officer Valentine, Office Brooks, Officer Daniels began arriving on scene and we all just took a window and kept banging on it until the window was out, ” Atlanta Police Office Elijah McCall said.

The driver of the vehicle was unconscious when officers arrived, and they were trying to get his attention and wake him up. The other passenger started screaming during the rescue. All of the car doors were locked as the officers made desperate attempts to get to them.

“We grabbed water started pouring it on the hood of the car,” he said. “It’s not always about catching bad guys.”

Firefighters soon joined the officers and were able to free the two men trapped inside the car. According to the AJC, they were both taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
