Wikileaks continues to release additional emails on a daily basis that are believed to have been taken from an account belonging to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. The most recent release on Tuesday morning includes an email from top Clinton aide Cheryl Mills that suggests Hillary Clinton’s team was concerned after President Obama said he first learned about the private email server from the news.
The email was sent on March 7, 2015, about five days after The New York Times broke the story about Clinton’s use of a private email during her tenure as Secretary of State. The email chain shows Mills received a message from Clinton staffer Nick Merrill that included a link to this tweet showing President Obama’s first public comments about when he learned about Clinton’s private server:

As the tweet shows, President Obama claimed he first learned about the private server “at the same time everybody else learned it through news reports.”
In response to seeing the president’s claim, Mills appears to raise the alarm, saying they “need to clean this up – he has emails from her – they do not say state.gov.”
Mills’ response appears to show any skepticism surrounding President’s Obama’s claims about when he learned about the email matter was justified. Although, the public would have to wait nearly another year until February 2016 to find out President Obama was even exchanging emails with Clinton.
