Texas Republican elector Christopher Suprun says he really did serve on 9/11, and he has the proof to back it up. He spoke with C-SPAN’s Kimberly Atkins on Saturday. They showed a copy of the letter from the Virginia-based Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, which said that he worked there when they responded to the attack on the Pentagon.

The official station records confirm no Dale City Volunteer Fire Department members were on duty from 6:00am to 6:00 pm on September 11, 2001. Therefore, no members of the department were involved in the initial response to the attack on the Pentagon in their capacity as a member of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department. However, members of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department were part of the operation from 1800 hours on September 11th, 2001 until release by the Incident Commander. In addition, members of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department were involved in the initial response on the Pentagon in their capacities as public safety officials with other organizations. However, the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department has no records upon which it may rely on to confirm or deny the times of service or specific nature of the involvement of these members.
They said he was an active member from July 2000 through June 2002. Atkins said it was their official statement.
Suprun’s profile got raised after he announced that he refuses to vote for Donald Trump as president even though the GOP candidate won the popular vote in his state.
However, a WFAA report on Friday said there was no record that he served in the Manassas Park Fire Department on September 11, 2001. The City of Manassas said that according to their records, they only hired him about a month later. As of Saturday, Suprun’s LinkedIn page says he worked there as “Firefighter/ALS Technician” starting September 2001. It’s worth mentioning that his work at Dale City isn’t mentioned on the page.
In any case, Suprun wasn’t a fan of the report.
“There were questions from WFAA, as we talked about earlier, where they tried to say a paid department I worked for, not this volunteer department—I couldn’t have responded because I didn’t work there,” he said on Saturday. “That organization [the paid fire department itself] did not respond at all.”
We’ve reached out to the city and MPFD for more information in an attempt to resolve the apparent discrepancy between his resume and the city’s reported claim. Fire Chief David O. Dixon answered our questions, including whether Suprun maybe worked as a trainee, or on a probationary status during 9-11.
1) Mr. Suprun was hired by the City of Manassas Park Fire Rescue Department on October 10, 2001.
2) Mr. Suprun was not a trainee or probationary employee with the department on September 11, 2001.
3) The Manassas Park Fire Rescue Department did not respond to the Pentagon or any other 9-11 site.
