Fired FBI Director James Comey‘s Thursday testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee didn’t just put a bigger focus on President Donald Trump. It also led one top Democrat to call for an investigation into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
This comes in response to Comey’s claims that Lynch told him to call the FBI probe into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‘s alleged mishandling of work emails a “matter” instead of an “investigation.”
“I think we need to know more about that,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) on Sunday’s episode of State of the Union. “And there’s only one way to know about it, and that’s to have the Judiciary Committee take a look at that.
If a probe does get underway, Feinstein, the ranking member, would have a lot of power.
Lynch, a nominee of President Barack Obama, caught flak last year for a meeting she had with former POTUS Bill Clinton. It was a bad look since, as you may remember, Mrs. Clinton had been running for office, and the subject of an investigation by the FBI. Lynch has said they were just making small talk.
