The so-called ‘affluenza teen’ is back in the United States. Hours ago, he arrived on a flight from Mexico into Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. He is expected to be taken to a juvenile facility in Forth Worth, Texas. Ethan Couch dropped his appeal to fight his deportation back to the United States. Couch had appealed Mexico’s original decision to deport him, and he has been in the detention center in Mexico City since then.
The Instituto Nacional de Migracion said in a press release:
“INM has given the young American a safe process, ordered and documented, as well as permanent food, medical and psychological care as all foreigners who cannot prove the regularity of their stay on the national territory and always in accordance with the respect for their human rights”

Couch fled to Mexico along with his mother in December after failing to check in with his probation officer. Couch came under national scrutiny when his defense attorneys argued he suffered from “affluenza” and would not be able to cope with a long prison sentence. Couch was found guilty of manslaughter for a drunken driving crash that killed four people. He was sentenced to 10-years probation.
