Neighborhood Dog Tackles Fleeing Suspect (WATCH)

Sheriff’s deputies in Volusia County, Florida are giving props to a dog for tackling a fleeing suspect. Helicopter footage released by officials shows the suspect and an alleged accomplice ditching a stole vehicle, attempting to escape through some house yards. That’s when they met the doggo.

“One is getting attacked by a neighbor’s dog here,” said an official narrating the footage.

Deputies started their Facebook post about the incident by writing “WHO’S A GOOD BOY?” They said that the men were driving a Camaro with a stolen tag.

“They also were carrying several baggies of heroin, cocaine and about $2,000 in cash between them,” officials said.

In a Friday report, WKMG caught up with the dog’s owner, Mario Figueroa. He said his two-year-old rescue Georgio rushed into action.

“Yeah, he took him down like a professional police dog,” Figueroa said. “He’s pretty awesome. Georgio just took care of me. He’s a wonderful dog.”

Good doggie!

Jail records obtained by LawNewz show that the suspects, identified as Corey Williams and Deonte Broady, were booked Thursday into Volusia County Jail. Williams faces charges of possession of heroin with intent to sell, resisting an officer without violence, possession of cocaine, and trafficking in heroin 4 grams to 14 grams. They remain in custody. Broady faces grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer without violence, and possession of heroin with intent to sell.

Jail records didn’t specify if they had attorneys. They could not be reached for comment.
