Warning: This video features nudity, albeit at a distance.
Welcome to Miami, Florida. There’s a naked man riding his bike on the interstate. Enjoy your stay.
For real, though, a bicyclist was seen on I-95 Thursday evening, according to media reports and witnesses on social media. He was, except for an apparent strap, nude. He also managed to get away with it.
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alejandro Camacho told The South Florida Sun Sentinel that they got calls about the nude bicyclist being near NW 151st Street. Troopers and cops didn’t find him.
“It appears he exited off the highway and we were unable to locate him,” Camacho said. He explained that operating a bike on the interstate breaks the law. Vehicles must be motorized on such limited-access roadways.
Whatever the identity of this raw rider, he seemed pretty comfortable weaving his way around vehicles.
“He was beating traffic,” driver Jesse Schwartz said. “Apparently, this guys does this often.”
A nearly identical case happened out in California back in July. As in Florida, this rider 1) was nude; 2) caught on video; and 3) wasn’t found by authorities.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Ross Lee voiced concern about the man’s safety. The main issue wasn’t that he was nude. The issue was that he could’ve been hit by a vehicle.
“We’ve had calls of naked males somewhere on the freeway in the past, but never a naked man on a bicycle,” he told SFGate.
