A Florida judge has been punished after jailing and tough-talking an alleged victim of abuse. Jerri Collins must attend an anger management course, and a course on domestic violence.

“Judge Collins, this is indeed a sad day for you, a sad day for the people of Florida and a sad day for the Judiciary on which our people depend for justice,” a Florida Supreme Court Justice told her at the disciplinary hearing on Tuesday. “I cannot emphasize enough how intolerable your behavior was in this case.”

We’ve already written about Judge Collins, and the reason she’s in trouble. At a July 2015 hearing in Seminole County, she lashed out at the woman, an alleged victim of domestic violence, who no-showed a court appearance. The woman said she suffered from anxiety and depression because of the crime. Guess how much sympathy Collins showed.

“You think you’re going to have anxiety now?” the judge said when she sentenced her to three days in jail for contempt of court. “You haven’t even seen anxiety.”
