Couple’s Getaway Ends in Spectacular Fashion When Woman Crashes Through Store Ceiling (WATCH)

Watch this one until the end, it’s worth it. What began as a simple case of an alleged stolen credit card turned into a Tom and Jerry style chase through the aisles of a Reddi Mart convenience store near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada earlier this week.

The owner of the establishment believed that a man and a woman had a stolen card, so he called the cops, Canada’s Global News reported. When the Mounties showed up, they apparently didn’t go easily.

As seen in the video above, the pair split up inside the store, running up and down the aisles and into the back room in order to avoid being apprehended. Eventually, an officer with the local Royal Canadian Mounted Police got the man–identified as Richard Pariseau–down on the ground, aiming his weapon at the prone suspect. Somehow, he seems to break free of the officer, taking off, only to be taken down again.

His female companion–identified as Brittany Burke–appears to use the distraction as an opportunity to run to the back and up a ladder into the ceiling. Needless to say, her escape plan didn’t work out very well.

The footage cuts from her climbing up to the main interior of the store. All is still until the she violently crashes into the merchandise below, ceiling tiles falling with her. Impressively, she got right up, but at that point she let the Mounties arrest her. The owner helped apprehend the pair.

Pariseau was charged with using a stolen credit card, resisting arrest from the police, resisting arrest from someone aiding the police, assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer, possession of stolen property under $5000, mischief under $5,000 and breaching probation, among other offenses.

Burke faces charges including obstructing a police officer, fail to comply with undertaking and mischief under $5,000.
