Be honest. We’d all like to get drunk at work from time to time. The problem is when your workplace frowns on that sort of thing. For example, let’s say you’re a cop with the Detroit Police Department. Chief James Craig announced Friday that they’re investigating why one of their officers showed up to a training session with a .08 blood alcohol level, according to WNEM.
“The bottom line is he showed up to work under the influence of alcohol,” he told reporters.
The cop and his partner showed up to a training session run by the Michigan State Police.

The officer allegedly volunteered to participate in a demonstration. Craig said the man blew a.08.
“During that class he volunteered to give a sample and it was determined he had alcohol in his system,” State Police Lt. Mike Shaw told The Detroit Free Press. “The MSP sergeant dismissed him from the class and sent him to his department. His command staff was notified. He does not work for us so we can not discipline him. That will be up to his employer.”
Well, Craig said he’s taking care of it. Internal affairs are investigating.
“Certainly, that’s a problem,” Craig said. “It’s a problem for me, and it may be a problem on how it was handled after that.”
The officer was not arrested because he didn’t have his gun at the time, and his partner drove him to the session.
This incident allegedly happened Friday. Police didn’t identify the officer in question.
