Kitten Saved After Police Stop Traffic in Boston

Massachusetts State Police shut down a tunnel in Boston over the weekend, allowing a small, grey kitten to be rescued by animal welfare advocates.

Sunday afternoon, on the Mass Pike, multiple motorists spotted the youngster prancing around the busy Ted Williams Tunnel and alerted law enforcement.

Those calls were enough to prompt Sergeant Bob Dateo to arrive on the scene and shut down traffic in both directions. After that, members of the Animal Rescue League of Boston were able to access the wandering feline and bring him to safety.

He was apparently burned and lost an unspecified amount of fur on his tail due to that burn, but overall his prognosis is good. And the baby cat is expected to be adopted once he is cleared medically.

According to multiple reports, the baby cat was originally reported to be a girl, but is actually a boy.

As yet unnamed, Massachusetts State Police have encouraged the public to consider the circumstances in which he was rescued and come up with a clever moniker.

As the cops put it in their Facebook post regarding the matter: “This ended purrrrrrrrrrrfectly.”
