A former attorney for Donald Trump has penned a 20-point essay in The Huffington Post outlining why his former client is manifestly unqualified to be president.
In his piece published Sunday, Thomas M. Wells recalls his experience working as Trump’s attorney nearly 30 years ago: “Donald Trump was then, as he is now, larger than life, particularly in his own eyes, and at the same time frighteningly small, with very little moral grounding. He was then, and still is, all ego and show,” Wells writes.
Among the 20 primary reasons why Trump should not be elected in November, Wells argues, is his habit of lying about virtually everything, the fact that he lacks discipline of thought and is utterly unbothered by his own ignorance, the fact that he has greatly exaggerated his success and skills, and “A thin skin does not work for a president.” To list just a few.
“Bullies will always exist somewhere, but the White House should not be that somewhere,” Wells writes.
