Tuesday brought the arraignment of Atlanta-based attorney Claud ‘Tex’ McIver. He accused of shooting his wife during a car ride in September. This lawyer maintains it was all just an accident.

He was indicted in April for charges including malice murder and influencing witnesses. His bond was revoked after a gun was allegedly discovered in his condo.
Family friend Bill Crane told The Atlanta-Journal Constitution in September that the couple had been riding in downtown Atlanta—him in the back seat, her in the passenger side seat—when several people approached them at an intersection shortly after a Black Lives Matter protest. The McIvers worried about getting carjacked, so Claud took out a handgun just in case. The SUV hit a bump, however, so the gun accidentally fired, Crane said.
