Athens-Clarke County officials were on the look-out after Georgia man Marvin Taylor allegedly no-showed a work release program last Thursday. That ended Tuesday after a high-octane arrest, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. As indicated in video, which you can see above, the chase didn’t end even after the tasering.

“What’s your name?” the cop asks.
“David,” Taylor says.
The officer asks him to stop, and he runs through the store. For his trouble, he gets tasered while hopping over a store counter.
“However, the Taser did not make full contact, and Taylor brushed the probes/wires away,” Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez told the AJC.
Two officers can be seen in the footage chasing Taylor outside, and handcuffing him after they get him on the ground.
Lt. Christopher Nichols sustained a fractured finger, and Officer Gregory Gilchrist hurt his right elbow, Rodriguez reportedly said.
The 42-year-old Taylor was booked on three counts, according to online records obtained by LawNewz.com: 1) misdemeanor theft by shoplifting, 2) misdemeanor willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, and 3) felony escape. He’s being held at Clarke County Jail on no bond because of that last charge.
