The Massachusetts Department of Corrections told local media outlets that prison officials are negotiating with inmates involved in a “disturbance,” and correction officials have been evacuated in the meantime. Former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, who allegedly murdered semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd, is housed at this prison. However, it is not clear at this time if his particular unit was impacted. LawNewz.com has reached out to the Department of Corrections to obtain further information about the situation, and will update this post accordingly.
Updaye 7:23 pm: local affiliates are reporting the situation is over. We will update when we get more information.
