President Donald Trump‘s former personal attorney Michael Cohen was spotted in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
Reporters on the scene asked, “Mr. Cohen, what brings you to D.C. today?”; “Mr. Cohen, are you going to the special counsel’s office?”; and “Mr. Cohen are you meeting with the president?”
Then came the hardest hitting question of all: “Mr. Cohen, how was your train ride?”
This was the only question Cohen acknowledged. A beaming Michael Cohen turned to reporters and said, “Train was great!”
Law&Crime reached out to attorney Lanny Davis for comment on his client’s D.C. appearance. A representative for Davis responded that there is no comment.
Cohen has become arguably the most important witness against Trump when it comes to the payoffs of porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.
When Cohen decided to plead guilty to eight criminal charges related to tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations, he infamously said that Trump “directed” him to commit campaign finance violations.
Special counsel Robert Mueller notably referred a criminal investigation into Cohen to the Southern District of New York back in April. After that, the feds raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room, resulting in a months-long stand-off that ended with Cohen’s guilty plea. It happened on the same day former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was found guilty in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Cohen has reportedly been interviewed by government investigators for more than 50 hours.
