WATCH LIVE: Homicide Trial for Kaylee Whitehall, Accused of Killing Boyfriend With Knife, Set to Begin

Kaylee Whitehall was charged with reckless homicide after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, Kuston Johnson, to death in their home on September 10, 2015. Whitehall claims it was self-defense. The matter will go before a court in a trial that LawNewz.com will be covering from opening statements through closing arguments, and ultimately, a verdict. Jury selection is scheduled to begin on Tuesday in Warren County Circuit Court in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Whitehall has claimed that her boyfriend’s death occurred after the two of them got into an argument. She says Johnson choked her, and they both threw things at each other. She claims that Johnson then choked her again, and then she picked up a knife and stabbed him, while he was behind her. Whitehall wasn’t indicted until more than two months after it happened.

The defense has alleged that the couple had a history of problems, and that witnesses had previously seen Johnson be physical with Whitehall.

Dennie Hardin, Whitehall’s defense attorney, tried to get the reckless homicide charge dismissed before the trial, but Judge Steve Wilson ruled against it.

You can watch live streaming video of the trial above, once it begins on Tuesday.
