The Bernie Sanders campaign is down one delegate in his Minnesota coalition after John Dillon Wood Neitge stepped down on Friday. Authorities filed a multi-count criminal complaint against the former Bernie delegate related to drug use.
According to the complaint, Neitge is accused of the sale and possession of multiple illegal substances, including methamphetamine, marijuana, and other narcotics. Furthermore, Neitge was charged with distributing said drugs in prohibited zones near schools and public housing.
LawNewz.com spoke with a senior official at the Minnesota DFL (Minnesota Democratic Party) who confirmed that Neitge was a delegate for the Sanders campaign. However, the senior Minnesota DFL official said, “The Sanders Campaign asked Neitge to withdraw as a candidate and he complied” with the request.
