Report: Fox Looking to Remove Roger Ailes After Sexual Harassment Allegations

Image of Roger Ailes via Hoover Institution After Gretchen Carlson filed a lawsuit accusing Fox News CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment, the network’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, conducted an internal investigation into the matter. Having reviewed findings of the probe, which was handled by the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch, and his sons, Fox chairmen Lachlan and James Murdoch, have concluded that Ailes should be removed from his position, according to a report by New York Magazine.

Sources close to the investigation told New York Magazine that all three Murdochs agree that Ailes has to go, it’s just a question of when and how. James Murdoch reportedly prefers to give Ailes a choice to resign or be fired this week, while Rupert and Lachlan would any action be held off until after this week’s Republican National Convention.

Neither Ailes’s spokesperson, Irena Briganti, nor Fox News responded to New York Magazine for comments on these issues.
