Police Say They’ve Caught the Man Who Ripped MAGA Hat Off Teen’s Head

San Antonio cops say they caught the man who ripped a teen’s MAGA hat off his head, and threw a drink at him. Kino Jimenez, 30, was arrested Thursday for felony theft of a person, say Bexar County jail records obtained by Law&Crime.

Detectives with the Robbery Unit Task Force located Jimenez in Universal City, Texas, and an arrest warrant was issued, according to a statement from the San Antonio Police Department. Local cops in Universal City apprehended him without incident, and passed him along to San Antonio detectives, who interviewed him, said authorities.

Police did not answer specific questions from Law&Crime about how they located Jimenez, why they believe he is the man who stole the MAGA hat, and his communications with investigators. Citing the attorney general, they said that the incident report is not public because the case involves a minor. They did not name the teen involved. Police said they were not immediately notified about this incident, but the alleged victim and a guardian later reported the assault at a police substation, cops said.

Jimenez allegedly is the bespectacled, bearded man in viral video. 16-year-old Hunter Richard told News 4 San Antonio that this person cursed out him at a Whataburger, ripped off his hat (pulling some of his hair), and tossed a drink at his face.

“I support my President and if you don’t, let’s have a conversation about it instead of ripping my hat off,” he said. “I just think a conversation about politics is more productive for the entire whole rather than taking my hat and yelling subjective words to me.”

You can see footage of the incident above.

“You ain’t support shit, nigga,” says the bespectacled, bearded man as he throws a drink. He walks away with the red MAGA hat. “This is going to go great in my fucking fireplace, bitch.”

Jail records show Jimenez was released from jail Friday. A Bexar County clerk told Law&Crime that he is scheduled for a hearing to take place August 29. The defendant has no attorney at this time, according to records. He could not be reached for comment.

Both Donald Trump Jr., son of President Donald Trump, and Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale have offered to get the teenager a new, signed MAGA hat.
