Manhunt Ends: Escaped Inmates Accused of Officers’ Murders Captured

After 60-plus hours in the wind, escaped inmates Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe were captured Thursday evening in Rutherford County, Tennessee.

The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed their apprehension. The inmates were caught after a chase in vehicle and on foot, they said.

“We are relieved to know that these two dangerous individuals have been taken off the streets, and the public is out of harm’s way,” said Commissioner Greg Dozier.

Dubose and Rowe escaped from a prisoner transport bus early Tuesday morning in Putnam County, Georgia, said the local sheriff’s office. Officials say these two overpowered corrections officers Curtis Billue and Christopher Monica and killed them, taking off with their handguns. They then carjacked a green Honda Civic, making use of a several-hour head start, the Georgia Department of Corrections said.
