Henry Sanchez Milian, the Maryland 18-year-old arrested for raping a younger girl, is cleared of criminal charges, according to CBS Baltimore. Prosecutors already dropped the rape allegation against him months ago, but they refiled their case as two counts of possession of child porn. That claim was withdrawn on Friday.
Sanchez Milian’s attorney Andrew Jezic said the parents of the alleged victim, a 14-year-old girl, wouldn’t let her talk in court.
“It was a rush to judgement,” Jezic argued. “They did not look at the text, they did not look at the Instagram, and if they had done that within a day or two, they would have figured out that Henry was totally innocent.”
The rape case was already dropped against Sanchez Milian’s co-defendant, 17-year-old boy, but this teen admitted to possessing an image of the child. Reportedly, this got sorted out in juvenile court.
Sanchez Milian still faces deportation, however. Federal authorities say this Guatemala national came to the United States illegally. He remains locked up, pending a bond hearing scheduled for next month.
