Republican Congressman Jason Caffetz, who chairs a House Committee that has been investigating Hillary Clinton in the run up to the 2016 election, appeared to signal in a new Instagram post published on Inauguration Day that he has no intention of letting the investigations go, even though Clinton lost.
“So pleased she is not the President,” Cheffetz wrote in the caption to screengrab showing him shaking her hand at the inauguration on Friday. “I thanked her for her service and wished her luck. The investigation continues.”
The last sentence really stands out and although it does not appear Chaffetz has addressed the issue specifically or verified what exactly was meant by the remark, at least one member of Clinton’s former campaign team seems to think he knows what it shows.

Former Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon called the remark “subhuman” in a tweet posted in response to the Chaffetz post. Again, it is unclear what exactly Chaffetz meant, but it certainly possible that he plans to continue Clinton investigations, if necessary.
Some other Republicans, including top Trump campaign surrogates like Rudy Giuliani have suggested that maybe it is time to move on, at least with respect to the email investigations — leaving open the possibility of further investigations based on allegations against the Clinton Foundation.
