State Dept. Audit Blames Clinton for Email Management

An audit by the U.S. State Department faults former Secretary of State and current Democratic Presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton and other past secretaries for their handling of computer information and responses to cybersecurity risks, the Associated Press reported.

The report by the department’s inspector general describes the State Department’s communications as having “longstanding, systemic weaknesses.”  It says that the department itself, and its secretaries were “slow to recognize and to manage effectively the legal requirements and cybersecurity risks associated with electronic data communications, particularly as those risks pertain to its most senior leadership.”

The audit began after it was revealed that Secretary Clinton used a private email account and server while in office. LawNewz.com will stay on this story, stay with us for legal analysis.
