California third grade teacher Nikki Fiske recalled what Trump administration senior adviser Stephen Miller was like as a child in a recent account published by The Hollywood Reporter, and as a result has now been suspended by the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
Fiske, 72, was placed on “home assignment” due to concerns that her discussion of a former student may have violated certain rules.
School district spokesperson Gail Pinsker told the Los Angeles Times, that they are worried that “her release of student information, including allegations that the release may not have complied with applicable laws and district policies.”
Law&Crime reached out to Fiske for comment, but she did not immediately respond.
The short article, credited to Fiske “as told to Benjamin Svetkey,” gave an unflattering description of Miller as an 8-year-old attending Franklin Elementary School, likening him to the Peanuts character Pigpen due to his messy habits. Fiske recalled that Miller would pour glue onto his arm, then when it dried, he would peel it off and eat it.
“He was a strange dude.”
Fiske went on to say that she was “concerned” about Miller due to his behavior, and made notes about him in his school record. Fiske said that Miller’s parents were “horrified” when they found out about this during a meeting with the school principal. The principal then whited out these comments, essentially removing them from the record.
The reference to glue is reminiscent of an account from one of Miller’s third grade classmates that was published by Politico in June.
While Fiske is placed on home assignment, the school district will decide what to do about the situation.
