Woman Gets 10 Years for Giving Deadly Cement and Glue Butt Injections

A Florida woman who gave cosmetic butt injections consisting of cement and glue was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading no contest to manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license. Oneal Ron Morris, also known as “Duchess,” performed the procedures on women and men in the process of transitioning to become women, as an illegal alternative to costly services performed by actual doctors, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Investigators said that Morris injected her patients with substances including silicone, mineral oil, cement, Super Glue, and Fix-a-Flat tire sealant.

One patient, Shatarka Nuby, died in 2012 as a result of complications from 10 injections she received from Morris between 2007 and 2010. She paid $2,000 for the procedures. According to The Washington Post, police began talking to Nuby about her situation after she wrote a letter to the state health department complaining about her injections. Four months after she started talking to law enforcement officials, Nuby died. A medical examiner said the cause was “massive systemic silicone migration,” from injections to the hips and butt.

Morris denied injecting anyone “with any type of unknown substance,” saying at the sentencing hearing, “I’ve been found guilty by the media and outside sources based on lies.”

Morris’ defense attorneys argued that the injections did not include Super Glue or Fix-a-Flat. Attorney William Lanphear said the sentence should have been lighter because patients like Nuby knew that Morris wasn’t a doctor, so they shared responsibility by assuming the risk involved.

After her prison term is up, Morris will have to be on probation for five years. The punishment isn’t enough for Nuby’s aunt, Juanita Nuby. “There’s no closure,” she told CBS Miami. “Putting (Morris) in jail won’t bring her back.”
