Naked Man Stole $25,000 Swan Statue, Deputies Say (WATCH)

Deputies in Lakeland, Florida seek a missing $25,000 swan statue stolen by a butt naked man. They already caught an suspect: Ronald Thompson. Investigators claim he did the deed while nude sometime overnight on May 18-19.

Surveillance footage shows an au naturale male with a 5-gallon bucket trying to open a door at the Lakeland Cold Storage facility.

“Do you call that buck naked, or bucket naked?” said the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in a puntastic Facebook statement.

But why was he naked?

“Do we know why he’s naked?” they said. “No.”

Oh.

Deputies said he stole a company truck, and on the truck bed: the “Aspyre” Lakeland swan. The end of the footage shows the suspect apparently making off with the vehicle and bird.

Investigators arrested Thompson on Tuesday, and also recovered the truck. They didn’t find the swan, though. This search is ongoing.

Jail records obtained by LawNewz.com show that the suspect remains at the Hillsborough County Jail as of Friday morning. He is being held on one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle on $2,000 bond. If convicted, he could spend up to five years in prison and get a $5,000 fine.
