Update, Jan. 17, 2020: Per the terms of a plea deal, Aimers pleaded guilty to indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, and two counts of simple assault relating to a fight that occurred on the wedding reception premises. All charges were misdemeanors.
The charges relating to the alleged sexual assault were dropped, Assistant District Attorney Megan Hunsicker said, after consulting with the victim.

Matthew Aimers, a New Jersey man accused of sexually assaulting a minor in a bathroom stall while she was working at his wedding reception as a waitress, appeared in District Court on Thursday with his new wife by his side. And, according to his defense lawyer Louis Busico, proof of Aimers’ innocence can be found in the fact that his wife hasn’t left him.
“Human experience dictates that if his wife thought he was guilty, she ain’t staying with him,” said Busico, as reported on by Oxygen. “If his wife thought he did this, Dr. Phil or any other therapist couldn’t save this marriage. So it’s very telling to me that the smarter of the sexes—women—specifically his wife, believes him completely. She’s a pillar of strength.”
Busico also said Thursday that his client “denies and rejects” the accusations made by the woman, who is now 18. He said Aimers’ wife, Kayla, “150 percent supports him.”
Aimers, 32, has been charged with imprisonment of a minor, indecent assault, and disorderly conduct following his nightmare wedding last November at the Northampton Valley Country Club.
So what happened that night? While Aimers denies the assault and the ensuing brawl he’s accused of starting, police said that Aimers approached the juvenile waitress and said “[W]e can do whatever you want.” Authorities said that later on that night, Aimers followed the waitress into the women’s bathroom, pulled her into a stall and forcibly kissed her before attempting to unbutton his pants. The waitress recalled Aimers offering her $100 and asking, “Can you kiss me like you mean it?”
That’s not all.
Police were called to the scene later on because a brawl broke out. Authorities reportedly observed Aimers “pushing and punching people.” The fight allegedly started because Aimers was not happy that he was told by county club employee that he could not take alcohol outside. Authorities said that Aimers essentially challenged a responding officer to a fight rather than complying with orders.
Aimers was released from jail since posting a portion of his $350,000 bail. Busico said Aimers will be arraigned on May 10 at the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
