21-year-old Kelly McDaniel attended Dragon Con, a Labor Day weekend convention held annually in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a popular event for people into gaming, comics, fantasy, sci fi, etc. Things almost got fatal, however, when someone at a host hotel, The Marriott Marquis, allegedly threw bottles and chairs from a 10th story window, according to a WSB-TV report. Police say McDaniel and another woman were hurt by the falling debris.
“It was just so much blood,” McDaniel told the outlet. She said her blood gushed down her face, but thinks it could’ve been way worse had it not been for her horned crown: She was dressed like the comic book character Loki. “I really think that saved my life.”
Both victims were treated at the hospital, while McDaniel says that whoever throw that stuff out the window should be punished for assault with a deadly weapon.
The Atlanta Police Department is investigating.
