Comedian Wildly Attacked on Stage by Crazed Fan During Show (VIDEO)

Talk about a tough crowd! Stand-up comic Steve Brown was performing at the Comedy House in Columbia, South Carolina on Sunday, when someone in the audience apparently didn’t like the show. The unidentified assailant can be seen in video obtained by TMZ on the stage throwing a punch at Brown, before trying to hit him with a microphone stand and a stool.

The wild confrontation went on for a surprisingly long time before anyone else came to Brown’s aid and getting the attacker to leave the stage. As of Monday morning, no arrest had been made, but authorities were investigating.

Brown uploaded a video response to Instagram after the incident, saying, “I’m good, I’m great,” but expressed concern that the club didn’t have any protection.

In a comment accompanying the video message, Brown reiterated the need for clubs to have professional security:

This unprovoked attacked that happened to me tonight is a reminder of why these comedy clubs should have well equipped PROFESSIONAL security to protect us entertainers who bring their club so much money. I thank God for looking out for me and giving my old ass the ability to Bob and weave because this could have ended in horrible way.

Brown claimed in the video that he didn’t provoke the man.

“All of a sudden, the dude got up and lost his mind,” Brown said.

Such is the life of a comic. Some crowds are great, some aren’t. This one just happened to get violent.

“On to the next club,” Brown said.
