11 Arrested After Alleged Animal Sacrifice Ceremony in Suburban Home

Deputies in Bexar County, Texas came upon a gruesome scene over the weekend when they responded to a call in a suburban area. Eleven men and women were allegedly sacrificing a variety of animals, cutting them up and draining their blood.

“It appears that they were having some sort of unknown ritual,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Elizabeth Gonzalez told the Houston Chronicle. Sgt. Gonzalez said the people involved were speaking a language unrecognizable to an officer who was fluent in English and Spanish.

Animals including goats and chickens were killed and dismembered at the scene, authorities said. One woman was scene cutting, while someone else was disposing of the blood in some mysterious practice, according to deputies.

Inside the house, they found multiple dead animals.

Those arrested were between the ages of 23 and 65.

Alexander Gene Campos, 23, Ivan Felipe Gonzalez, 24, Carmen Maria Gonzalez-Trujillo, 41, Cynthia Gabriell Martinez, 29, Liza Mercado, 46, Marie Galan Murcia, 65, Ramon Patino Jr., 65, Luiz Rodriguez Ortiz, 41, Robert Talamantez, 55, Irma Garza Talamantez, 64, and Arteaga Ariel Torres, 39, were charged with cruelty to livestock animals.

“It was unbelievable until I heard the animals baa-ing,” a neighbor told local KENS5. “I drove by them, par

ked, went into my house for maybe five minutes and when I came out, there was, like, sheriff cars everywhere.”

The owner was also said to have been seen occasionally wearing a white apron outside, which people thought was pretty strange.
