WATCH: Passerby Catches Dramatic Arrest Video After State Trooper Dragged During Traffic Stop

A news station in New York received video from a viewer on Wednesday that shows an incredibly dangerous situation surrounding an attempted traffic stop involving a state trooper.   According to the report, the trooper was briefly dragged by the suspect before apparently crawling into the vehicle to force the driver to stop.

ABC 7 obtained video of the arrest from a passing motorist who started recording after seeing the suspect’s vehicle take off from a traffic stop with a state trooper hanging from the driver’s side window.

“He floored this car, you know the cruiser was right behind the suspect’s car, and he literally just floored it with the cop hanging out, you literally see the cop’s legs hanging out outside the vehicle,” a witness told the news station.

The car then came to stop on the opposite side of the multi-lane highway and suddenly a woman jumps out of the passenger side of the vehicle.  She is quickly followed out by the suspect and a state trooper with a bloodied face still struggling to take control of the suspect.

The trooper managed to gain control of the suspect and two other motorists appear to have rushed from their vehicles to help the trooper get the suspect into handcuffs on the side of the road.

The driver was taken into custody and now faces charges of aggravated assault upon a police officer, second degree assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.

He will appear at a arraignment hearing on Thursday.
