A school shooting has occurred in Maryland, the St. Mary’s County Public School District said shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday on Twitter. Video from the scene shows a massive police presence and crime scene tape across what appears to be school property. ABC News is reporting that multiple people have been shot. Their identities and conditions were not immediately clear.
There has been a Shooting at Great Mills High School. The school is on lock down the event is contained, the Sheriff’s office is on the scene additional information to follow.

At about 9:15 a.m., the school asked parents to meet at a different nearby high school for “reunification” with students:

The Sheriff’s Department also tweeted:

Video, purportedly from the scene, was emerging on Facebook at the time of this report.
The school is located in Great Mills, Maryland, on the west side of Chesapeake Bay about 60 miles southeast of Washington, D.C.
