The highlight of the day is expected to be the sentencing hearing of Paul F. Theisler Jr., former Chief Financial Officer of Warren Fabricating, a local steel company. Theisler was accused of stealing more than more than $2 million from the company while he was CFO. He had worked for Warren Fabricating for 38 years,
Theisler was charged with aggravated theft, and he ended up pleading guilty to a lesser count of that charge on Monday. Originally, he faced up to 11 years in prison. Now he faces up to 8 years, but he could end up with a fraction of that if he upholds his end of his plea agreement.
According to the local publication The Vindicator, Theisler will be receive a punishment of just two years behind bars if he pays $400,000 in restitution by Wednesday’s sentencing hearing.
