WATCH: Hearing for Three Men Facing Death Penalty in 2006 Murder of Deputy

Closing arguments in a motions hearing will take place Thursday morning for three men facing the death penalty for the murder of Brian Keith Tephford, a deputy with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. Eloyn Ingraham, Bernard Forbes, and Andre Delancy are finally headed towards a trial, more than a decade after Tephord’s death in the fall of 2006. Prosecutors claim that Tephford had spotted the three men driving into a residential complex in a car that didn’t match its license plates. Tephord called for backup and stopped them, when a shootout ensued. Tephford was killed, and another deputy, Christopher Carbocci, was injured. The three suspects were apprehended after a search, and they’ve been in custody waiting for trial for 11 years.

The three-day hearing is expected to conclude Thursday.
