‘Chuck Schumer, I Agree!’: Trump Trolls Schumer by Tweeting Video of Dem’s Past Speech on ‘Illegal Aliens’

President Donald Trump trolled Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) bigly on Wednesday, tweeting a video clip of the Democrat speaking about illegal immigration. Schumer’s message in the clip is quite different from his party’s current approach, and is arguably more in line with Trump’s own philosophy.

“Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” Schumer said. “Until the American people are convinced that we will stop future flows of illegal immigration, we will make no progress on dealing with the millions of illegal immigrants who are hear now and unrationalizing our system of legal immigration.”

Democrats today have strongly criticized Trump’s hardline approach to securing the boarder, and in some cases have been accused of preferring to decriminalize illegal border crossing altogether.

In the clip, Schumer also seemed to come out against politically correct terminology that people on the left prefer to use. Instead of referring to “illegal aliens,” people often use terms such as “undocumented immigrants,” or more recently, “migrant families.” Schumer called out those who wouldn’t call out illegal immigration as “illegal.”

“When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration,” he said. “People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the U.S. legally.”

Trump’s tweet simply said, “Chuck Schumer, I agree!”

Earlier in the day, Trump quoted that last line from Schumer in a separate tweet, saying it was from 2009. The speech had been mentioned in the morning on Fox & Friends.
