‘Oh My God … You’re a Legitimate ****’: Prosecutor Fired After Rant Against Uber Driver Caught on Tape

A Dallas attorney got into an altercation with an Uber driver that ended up getting her fired. Shaun Platt told “Good Morning America” that he was driving Jody Warner home from a bar when she got mad at him for the route he was taking. He claims she threatened him and hit him, and said she was an assistant district attorney.

“She kept saying she was an assistant DA, said who are they going to believe, you or me?'” he recalled. “I said, ‘You know what? You’re kinda right.'” So he started recording their conversation. Now Warner is a former prosecutor.

In excerpts of the recording, Warner can be heard cursing at Platt, and saying, “You’re so stupid, I want the cops to come so that they can **** you up.”

Platt pulled over and asked Warner to get out, and then called the police when she wouldn’t leave.

When the DA’s office got wind of what happened, they fired Warner. Dallas District Attorney Faith Johnson said in a statement, “Her behavior is contrary to this office’s core principle of integrity.”

Platt said he’s used to driving passengers who are drunk, so he forgives Warner, but that doesn’t excuse her behavior. “I’m sorry that it cost her her job. That was not my intent. But you don’t treat people that way.”

Warner, meanwhile said she’s very embarrassed by this.

“I cringe whenever I hear or think about the things that I said that night,” she said.

Still, she defended herself, saying, “The audio doesn’t tell you that I was in a situation that made me very uncomfortable.”
