Hero Cop Saves the Day, Rescues Choking Woman (WATCH)

Here’s a feel-good story to start your week. A campus police officer at the University of Central Florida came to the aid of a school employee who was choking.

At first, the choking woman’s coworker tried to assist, but when she was unable to help Officer Julie Wilk answered the call of duty, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Officer Wilk skillfully applied the Heimlich maneuver to the university worker, saving her life.

The incident happened on International Women’s Day, which school spokeswoman Courtney Gilmartin said made it even more meaningful. “Though UCFPD officers do great things all the time, it was especially meaningful for a female officer to save another woman’s life on International Women’s Day.”
