Body of Cornell Student Found Two Days After Disappearance

On Friday, Cornell University confirmed Aalaap Narasipura, a senior who went missing early Wednesday morning, was found dead. Law enforcement officials in Ithaca, New York located the body of the engineering student in Fall Creek, which is a gorge located near Ithaca Falls, not far from the Cornell campus, Cornell Police said. Narasipura was set to graduate this December.

Ryan Lombardi, Vice President for Student & Campus Life, said in a statement that there is currently no suspicion of foul play, but an investigation remains ongoing. “On behalf of the Cornell University community, I extend our deepest condolences to Aalaap’s family and friends as they grieve this tragedy,” Lombardi said. “They are in our thoughts as we all come to grips with the enormity of this loss.”
