Australian Senator Fraser Anning should be charged with hitting a teen who slapped an egg on his head, the country’s prime minister argued, according to an Associated Press report.
“The full force of the law should be applied to Sen. Anning,” said Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
Anning attained international notoriety after the mass shooting on Thursday in Christchurch, New Zealand. A white supremacist opened fire on victims at two mosques, killing dozens of people, according to police. At least 50 died as of Sunday afternoon.
Christchurch District Court will be closed to the public during the appearance of the 28-year-old man charged with murder in relation to yesterday’s attacks in Christchurch.
This is due to the heightened security risk.

The suspect live streamed his actions. An online manifesto indicated that he was motivated by racist believes.
Anning, a senator for the state of Queensland, displayed no sympathy for victims. Quite the opposite, as he was accused of anti-Muslim sentiment
“Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?” he wrote in a tweet following the attack.
Anning was talking on video Saturday when a white 17-year-old boy slapped an egg on the back of his head. The senator apparently struck him twice, before others pinned the younger person to the ground.
Now Morrison says that the senator should face legal consequences. The teen was reportedly arrested, but not charged. Police are investigating.
