Monday morning, FBI Director James Comey will be testifying before Congress regarding allegations that Russia interfered in November’s Presidential election. Both Comey and NSA Director Adm. Michael Rogers are expected to appear before the House Intelligence Committee to discuss the government’s findings. Watch the hearing live on the LawNewz Network in the player above.
As part of the conversation regarding Russia, Comey is expected to address President Donald Trump‘s claims that the Obama administration had Trump Tower wiretapped last year. So far, no evidence of wiretapping has been made public, and Comey’s testimony on the matter is eagerly anticipated by Democrats and Republicans alike.
Reports of Russia trying to impact the election had been rampant since the computers of the Democratic National Committee were found to be hacked during the campaign season. While a number of people connected to the campaign — including now-former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and Attorney General Jeff Sessions — are now known to have made contact with the Russian ambassador to the U.S., there is no public evidence as of yet that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
