‘There Is a Deeper State’: Pastor Thinks Resistance to President Trump Is the Work of Satan (VIDEO)

A Trump-supporting Baptist pastor from Florida raised hell on a televangelist’s TV show Wednesday, video of the wild segment spotted by right-wing extremism monitoring group Right Wing Watch shows.

Carl Gallups, a self-described senior pastor at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in Milton, Florida for the last 30 years and an “Amazon Top-60 best selling author […] conservative talk radio host heard nationally and internationally since 2002,” appeared on televangelist Jim Bakker‘s show.

Bakker, who is a convicted felon, welcomed Gallups on the show and the pastor offered some perspective on why people “attack” President Donald Trump in America. Gallups surmised that people who are anti-Trump don’t even realize it’s not about politics, but about Satan.

“I think that is why there is so much of an attack on Donald Trump in America. I think this is very spiritual … and, at some levels, very demonic, a demonic attack,” he said. “A lot of people don’t know it, they think it is all political. I think a lot of it is deeply, deeply spiritual. You talk about the deep state? There is a deeper state.”

That “deeper state,” he suggested, manifests itself in the form of demons undermining President Trump’s pro-Israel message by whipping up anger, hatred and resistance in political opponents.

“Satan is raising up antagonism right here in America,” he said. “I think with [Trump] focusing so much on Israel, I mean that’s what Satan hates. Israel is so prophetic, it goes back to the Garden of Eden all the way up to ground zero.”

“This is where it all began, that’s where it’s all going to culminate,” he added.

Gallups’ “about me” page on his website redirects to Amazon, where various apocalyptic works of his are available for purchase.

We would be remiss if we did not mention that host Bakker appeared to agree with Gallups’ pastoral diagnosis.

“The spirit of Antichrist is trying to destroy all Gospel,” he said. “Christian television, if the enemy, if the opposition ever gets a hold of this country again; believe me, you have no idea how much this world hates the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

He also said he feared Trump’s assassination. Given the context of that remark, it’s safe to assume Satan could facilitate this as well.
